This should be required reading in schools, colleges, city council chambers, and POA boards, etc. Our housing crisis is a reflection of how money both drives and narrows lifestyle options. The US has pioneered oversized homes. They aren't necessary, but they are what we could (once) afford. Now they are everywhere, too big, unaffordable....and we continue to build the standard 3 BR 2 BA home even though we have so many singles and couples with no kids.
