Totally relate to #1 . I had to set the table for dinner and clear the table--that was it. Once a year I had the onerous chore of stripping the chimney of ivy vines, and scrubbing the shower. Occasionally I'd be asked to mow the lawn. But as far as routine, day-to-day chores? Very, very few. I didn't even have to clean my room beyond tidying, that I can recall. I never really learned to use the vacuum, wash dishes, cook beyond toast and boiling water, or take care of anything in the house. I can recall having a great sense of satisfaction when we lived somewhere for a year and I had to take laundry down to a community laundromat. I really wish I had more of a sense of ownership, inclusion, and responsibility by being given more tasks and chores.
