We (lean people) think the equation is simple: eat less, and you'll lose. Decades of evidence shows that doesn't work but for the last 40+ years diet culture, bad medical advice, the low-fat cult, and terrible government policy have consipired not just to make it impossible to lose weight, but have increased obesity and diabetes to unprecedented levels. Maybe we should focus more on what makes us fat--high insulin, too many meals, processed carbs--and push in that direction....while giving "obese people" (a majority, now, of American adults) a break. It's obviously not a willpower problem!
