Well, I live in a gated community that has a lot of that but not the walkability. However, driving around here is fairly stress free because we are in the boonies. It's called Hot Springs Village near Hot Springs, AR, and is a weird mix of 1970s idealism and Arkansas nature. It has dark skies and quiet in abundance, two local markets and a decent Farmer's market in the Village and in Hot Springs (driving required), zilch on mass transit, no local bookstore but in Hot Springs maybe, but we have a GREAT local vinyl store, great local vet and I think the VA is 1 hour north in Little Rock. Hot Springs has thriving businesses. We don't have flooding. This place is definitely odd, it's like 75% golfers and 25% cat-loving, introverted, nature lovers. Oh--we have miles and miles of back roads for walking and cheap real estate. I'm pushing for more Dems to move here, that's why this comment is so long!
