When the phrase “no one cares” is used it globalizes and that’s not a good way to communicate. Saying “life story” further globalizes (as you point out, it’s an episode not your Life) yet again. She sounds unhelpful at best and jealous or cruel at worst. I’m also coming to the opinion that forming friendships out of empathy is usually a mistake since it’s hard to establish equal footing … based on more than one bad experience of my own!
