Yes, I agree with this. I'm good superficially but within the first few months they realize I'm not as socially competent as I appear. I feel like an item that gets returned to the store as defective - a B lister who appears A list. I'm slightly better at reading people but my general strategy is to remain circumspect with straight women. Older men are better; lesbians are usually okay but there is a wide range.
