Yes, that's because these companies are breaking a contract. It's both a social and financial contract. We are forced to engage in this contract if we want to live in America, and that goes for auto insurance (legally), health insurance (to avoid bankruptcy), and homeowners insurance (ditto, bankruptcy). Of course, we are outraged. It's understandable given climate change that homeowners insurance is becoming unsustainable, but health insurance is another animal altogether. These companies deny claims to get rich, period. The model of stock investment and CEO profit is the problem--it should never have been applied to medicine and health.
