Your mileage may vary with caffeine withdrawal symptoms. I had headaches, bad ones, for a week and was exhausted for the first week, too. And I wasn't drinking as much caffeine .... but the gradual approach you outlined is the best way to go. I discovered thru 23andMe that I am a "slow metabolizer" of caffeine, so one cup early in the morning can last till midnight. Dang.
