Your story is very relatable. I was a chubby kid and have had lifelong issues with being overweight. Fifteen years ago I was dx'd with low thyroid (Hashimoto's, an autoimmune disease) and have tried many diets since. Made some progress with AIP, lost some weight, and then switched to keto. My weight is, finally, good--but I totally get how eating a restricted diet has downsides, mainly socially. Maybe when I've stabilized I'll reintroduce a few foods, as I eat beef, lamb & animal fat currently. Time will tell if I can tolerate coffee, and some fruits and veggies. At least I've figured out grains & dairy are -- quite literally -- off the plate. Best of luck to you!
