You've expressed how I feel about therapy. I got a battery of neuro-psych tests yesterday and am now officially autistic/ADHD, and the buy who did the testing was next to useless. Reach out to national organizations! Try meet-ups! Start your own group!! Get therapy!!! Yeah, it wasn't his job to give advice so I shouldn't have asked, but honestly, his inane level of analysis was almost comical. Meanwhile, I have to pay a full $2500 deductible to get any counseling sessions through my private insurance (which costs $760 a month). The system in the US is so screwed up. I can't qualify for disability, although it might be worth applying. I used to work at disability, so I know I'm too high functioning. Maybe my list of 90 jobs might clue one of the psych docs at Social Security that I, uh, can't keep a job. Oh yeah, this bozo who diagnosed me recommended cognitive behavioral therapy. Yeah, uh, no.
